The California Longitudinal Pupil Achievement Data System (CALPADS) is the California Department of Education's (CDE's) repository of detail-level student, staff, and institution data. The cycle begins when local educational agencies (LEAs) extract and submit data from their local systems. As one of the largest state data systems in the nation, CALPADS processes, validates and reports several gigabytes of data daily for LEAs to verify data quality. At the close of the submission cycle, CALPADS data are used for state and federal reporting.
