Data Management Recognition

The CALPADS Data Management Recognition Program was established to acknowledge the efforts of local education agencies (LEAs) to build and strengthen a positive local data culture by improving the quality of local data and having successful data submissions.

Each year CSIS tracks the five data submissions required each year and identifies LEAs with certification dates on or prior to the deadline. The CALPADS certification dates are extracted directly from CALPADS. LEAs automatically receive the Data Management Recognition if they qualify; they do not need to apply.

In future years, in addition to meeting the initial certification deadlines, LEAs will need to meet data quality standards to qualify for the recognition. The assessment of data quality considers factors such as, but are not limited to, accurate grade level counts, accurate program counts, course enrollment/completion for all enrollment students and comprehensive discipline reporting.

When an LEA earns the Data Management Recognition, that LEA's superintendent/charter school administrator will receive a letter describing the CALPADS Data Management recognition and how it was earned. LEAs earning the Data Management Recognition are also identified on this web page by the year the recognition was earned. LEAs stay on the list of recognized LEAs to acknowledge their CALPADS achievement in that year.
