California School Directory

The California School Directory contains information about all California public schools, private schools, nonpublic nonsectarian schools, school districts and county offices of education. The search feature allows users to search for educational agencies in California by county, district, name, county-district-school (CDS) code, city, zip code, type or status.


The California Basic Educational Data System (CBEDS) Online Report Application (ORA) is used by authorized CBEDS coordinators to report County/District Information Form (CDIF) and School Information Form (SIF) data to the California Department of Education (CDE) and update coordinator contact information. CBEDS-ORA also contains a list of schools that are expected to submit CBEDS data.

Student Attendance Review Board Handbook

Student Attendance Review Board (SARB) Handbook provides information on topics such as establishing a SARB; identifying behavioral patterns of students with attendance or discipline problems; and working with students and parents or guardians. The SARB Handbook also includes attendance-related laws and sample letters and forms.

CALPADS Listserv

The CALPADS listservs provide one-way communication about CALPADS from the California Department of Education (CDE) to local educational agencies (LEAs), student information system (SIS) vendors and LEAs utilizing a custom-designed SIS.

SEID Lookup

The California Commission on Teacher Credentialing maintains a service that can be used to look up a Statewide Educator Identifier (SEID) for credentialed personnel working in California’s K-12 public schools. To obtain the login information, contact the Commission by e-mail at
